☝️ The Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) is a federal law that prohibits employment discrimination against individuals who are 40 years of age or older.

1️⃣ It applies to employers with 20 or more employees, including government agencies and labor organizations. and prohibits discrimination in hiring, promotion, discharge, compensation, and other terms, conditions, and privileges of employment.

2️⃣ The ADEA makes it illegal for employers to discriminate against employees or job applicants on the basis of age with respect to any term, condition, or privilege of employment, including hiring, firing, promotion, layoff, compensation, benefits, job assignments, and training.
